Charged Creepers are stronger variants of creepers that are more dangerous than them.

Spawn[]
A charged creeper spawns when a lightning strikes within 5 blocks from a creeper. Charged creepers do not have a spawn egg and cannot be spawned with a creeper spawn egg, which makes them very rare mobs.
Attack[]
They do the same as creepers do. They can also spot the player from 16 blocks away and will explode at the player. They will make a hissing sound before exploding. A charged creeper's explosion can destroy many more blocks than a creeper's and may kill the player if they don't wear armor.
Combat[]
A bow is recommended to fight charged creepers. Armor is also recommended, as the explosion may kill the player with no armor. Like Creepers, the player can ignite charged creepers with a flint and steel and run away.
Drops[]
Charged Creepers when killed, they drop 0-2 gunpowder like normal creepers. Also if a mob dies from the explosion, there are chances to drop it's head (only applies to Zombie, Skeleton, Creeper, Wither Skeleton, and as of snapshot 22w46a, the Piglin.).
In Bedrock Edition, when a Stray was blown up by a Charged Creeper, it drops a Wither Skeleton Head.

Trivia[]

- There is a mod in MCPE version that gives the player's creative inventory a charged creeper spawn egg (0.12.1+).
