Cranes are long-legged birds. They are opportunistic feeders, changing their diets according to the season. They are often found in large flocks, but go solitary during breeding season.

Spawning[]
Cranes spawn naturally in the overworld in groups of two to three. They can be found in rivers, swamps and beaches.
Drops[]
When an adult crane is killed, it drops:
- 0-3 feathers.
- 2-3 raw bird meat (2-3 cooked bird meat if killed while on fire).
- 1-3 XP when killed by a player or tamed wolf.
Behaviour[]
While in a loaded chunk, a crane will lay a crane egg every 5-10 minutes.
Breeding[]
Cranes can only breed with each other if they are the same variant. They must be adults, and if fed raw cod, raw salmon or raw tropical fish, a baby crane will spawn. The variant of the baby will match that of its parents.
Baby cranes can also be spawned by hatching a crane egg. The colour of the baby will match its mother. An egg with a higher spawn rate will have a better chance of hatching successfully.
