Drop Bear

The Drop Bear is a hostile, demonic-looking marsupial native to the Nether Wastes. This creature can often be found hanging upside down from the Nether's ceiling, waiting for unsuspecting prey to walk beneath it. When prey is below, the Drop Bear will leap from its position and try and crush its target beneath it. After it has landed, it will use its huge jaws and sharp claws to attack. If successful in dispatching its prey, the drop bear can leap back up to the Nether's ceiling. If slain, the Drop Bear will surrender a Drop Bear Claw, which, in a pinch, can be used to create Flint and Steel without the need of an Iron Ingot. It can also be used to brew a potion of Clinging, which will allow the drinker to stand and walk on ceilings, just as the Drop Bear does. Drop Bear claws can also be crafted with tendons dropped by murmurs to create a unique whip.

In Alex's Mobs, they are called Dropbears, which are are based on the Australian myth called the "Drop Bear", which is a giant, carnivorous version of a koala that would drop onto an unsuspecting person's head and kill them, similarly to in Alex's Mobs. People in Australia would tell tales about the Drop Bear Myth to scare tourists and children.

In groups they can surprise, overwhelm and potentially take down players, Hoglins, and Piglins. Thus, care is needed when facing them.
