An Egret
Egrets are a white variant of the heron. Sometimes, they can be red, like the reddish egret variant. Typically, they are smaller too. Egrets are long-legged freshwater and coastal birds. They are carnivorous, feeding on fish, amphibians, crustaceans and mollusks.
Spawning[]
Egrets spawn naturally in the overworld in groups of two to three. They can be found in rivers, swamps and beaches.
Drops[]
When an adult egret is killed, it drops:
- 0-3 feathers.
- 2-3 raw bird meat (2-3 cooked bird meat if killed while on fire).
- 1-3 XP when killed by a player or tamed wolf.
Behaviour[]
While in a loaded chunk, a egret will lay a egret egg every 5-10 minutes.
Breeding[]
egrets can only breed with each other if they are the same variant. They must be adults, and if fed raw cod, raw salmon or raw tropical fish, a baby egret will spawn. The variant of the baby will match that of its parents.
Baby egrets can also be spawned by hatching a egret egg. The colour of the baby will match its mother. An egg with a higher spawn rate will have a better chance of hatching successfully.
