Flamingos are wading birds that are found near swamps, lakes and oceans. They often stand on one leg, which is thought to conserve body hear. Their classic pink color comes from carotenoids in their diet. If if you feed a non-pink flamingo raw shrimp, it will turn pink.

Spawning[]
Flamingos spawn naturally in the overworld in groups of two to three. They can be found in swamps and warm beaches.
A flamingo has a 1 in 80 chance of spawning as the black greater flamingo.
Drops[]
When an adult flamingo is killed, it drops:
- 0-2 feathers.
- 2-3 raw bird meat (2-3 cooked bird meat if killed while on fire).
- 1-3 XP when killed by a player or tamed wolf.
Behaviour[]
While in a loaded chunk, a flamingo will lay a flamingo egg every 5-10 minutes.
Every few minutes, a flamingo will stand on one leg. This prevents it from moving. If the flamingo is moved or attacked, it will return to standing on both legs.
Breeding[]
Flamingos can only breed with each other if they are the same variant. They must be adults, and if fed raw cod, raw salmon or raw tropical fish, a baby flamingo will spawn. The variant of the baby will match that of its parents.
Baby flamingos can also be spawned by hatching a flamingo egg. The colour of the baby will match its mother. An egg with a higher spawn rate will have a better chance of hatching successfully.
