Inspiration for the Parrot[]

The inspiration for the parrot was actually a kakapo. Almost every Mojang employee’s favorite emoji on discord is a little GIF meme called the party parrot, a "dancing" parrot, which flashes different colors. Mojang added the parrot in the 1.12 update mainly for two reasons, One being that their they're colorful, and needed a colorful mob, and so they could have the party parrot in the Minecraft style, to make it public on the Minecraft Discord. This was why originally the parrot changed variants when listening to music. The original video featuring the "dancing" parrot was actually a kakapo, who was shagging the back of an ornithologist's head.
