Kangaroos are neutral and tamable animals that spawn in savanna and badlands. They usually spawn in group from 2-6 members, sometimes with smaller joeys in most of their pouches.

Kangarooskie

Behavior[]

Kangaroos are neutral and will fight back if provoked, they attack by leaping to punch or kick the attacker.

Grazing: Every so often, a Kangaroo may decide to take a bite on the grass block below it and convert it to a dirt block, this behavior is identical to sheeps. If a kangaroo lost some of its health then it will regain its health once grazed successfully.

Kangaroo hops as they move around, they can deal 3 damage on easy and normal difficult and 5 damage on hard or hardcore.

The kangaroo can be tamed by giving it carrots. When tamed, you can give it dead bush or grass to breed it, both of which require shear to obtain.

When two kangaroos successfully produce a joey, the joey will actively seek out for adult kangaroo's pouch and will stay there until it is mature.

Taming[]

Tamed kangaroos can be given three different orders:

- Sitting: The kangaroo will sit still and do nothing.

- Wandering: The kangaroo will wander aimlessly.

- Follow: The kangaroo will follow its owner.

Tamed kangaroos will defend its owner if set in wander or follow mode, moreover, the player can right-click their kangaroo and gain access to its pouch, where different things can be put in for the kangaroo to use.

- Sword: The kangaroo can equip a sword to increase their damage, any enchantments on the sword is also applied.

- Helmet and Chestplate: For protection, tamed roos can wear a helmet and a chestplate to increase their defense. Giving it a Crocodile Chestplate makes it look somewhat like Steve Irwin, who is, ironically, Australian.

- Vegetables: When damaged, tamed kangaroos will look into their pouch and eat any veggies available in order to heal, making them a promonent sidekick, breads can also be put it, as it is also the food that heal the kangaroo the most, up to 8hp per snack. You can also right-click the Kangaroo with the appropriate food items to heal it, additionally, when they graze the will heal 8hp as well.

Note: Gears will deteriorate quicker when wore by kangaroos, this is an attempt to nerf tamed kangaroos from destroying everything. If your tamed battle kangaroo happens to be latched on by a joey, then fear not, as you can still access its pouch while the joey is inside, the joey will temporary leave when you right-clicked, but it will just hop in right away after the GUI is closed.

Seeing as Kangaroos are easily bred and tamed, an army of them isn't too hard to come by!

Drops[]

Kangaroos drop Kangaroo Hide and Kangaroo Meat.

Kangaroo meat can be cooked and crafted between two pieces of breads to create a Kangaroo Burger.

Kangaroo meat is as nutritious as raw mutton, combining with the fact that Kangaroos are easily bred with grass, making Kangaroos farmable just as other farm animals, if you can survive being brutally retaliated after you attacking one that is.

Roger:[]

Naming a wild or tamed kangaroo with the name "Roger" will make a golden halo to hover above the kangaroo's head.
