Mosquito

Mosquitos are tiny hostile flying modded insects that spawn at night. They do not die during the day. They only do a half heart of damage, but are very hard to hit. Spiders attack mosquitos, and will forget about attacking the player if a mosquito is nearby, and attack it instead. When a spider kills a mosquito the player gets the achievement "Unlikely Allies." If a mosquito follows a player into the nether, it will automatically pick up the wither effect, and attack the player, giving it wither. They are the size of a baby turtle. They often hang out in swarms, and it is best to wear the new bug spray potion, which lasts a Minecraft day/Night. The mosquitos are also afraid of fire. You are not alone in disliking this pest, almost every mob hates the mosquito, including creepers and the undead, which run from mosquitos. Aquatic, undead, and mobs without blood such as the iron golem are immune to the mosquito. Swatters can also be crafted, which is like an iron sword with bane of arthropods. Even other insects hate mosquitos, as creatures like silverfish will try and attack them. However, you can breed frogs with mosquito larvae. You can prevent mosquitos from spawning by setting DoMosquitoSpawningFalse. If you give a silverfish or spider a mosquito larvae, they will become passive for you.
