These are a special kind of Snow Golems called Snow Glowems (which are essentially Snow Golems with Jack-o-lanterns as their heads). which are capable of throwing packed snowballs which are able to do actual damage unlike a normal snowball, and spitting flaming pumpkin seeds.
Creation[]
To craft a snow glowem, one must place two blocks of snow, and then place a jack-o-lantern. Not a standard pumpkin or carved pumpkin. Once the jack-o-lantern is placed, the resulting snow golem will be a snow glowem.
Appearance[]
Snow glowems resemble normal snow golems except for having a jack-o-lantern in place of a standard carved pumpkin. The glowing interior is visible through the mouth and eye holes.
Shearing a snow glowem removes the jack-o-lantern, revealing it's face and making it drop the pumpkin. Once sheared a snow glowem loses the ability to spit seeds and produce light.
Behavior[]
Snow glowems function nearly the same as regular snow golems by placing snow wherever they walk and attacking hostile mobs with projectiles. In fact, the only differences between the two is that the snow glowem has face animations, a different head, and can launch packed snowballs and seed projectiles. Additionally, they can rapid fire these projectiles while attacking. They usually move by sliding along the ground but will switch to hopping around when they need to move faster.
The snow glowem's method of attack can be determined by the player. They are set to throw packed snowballs by default, but pressing use on the snow glowem will switch it to seed mode. Pressing use a second time will switch them to throwing regular snowballs and pressing it a third time will reset back to packed snowballs. It's head will give a flash of light and it will make a growling sound to indicate it switching attack modes.
Packed Snowball[]

Packed Snowball
Snow glowems can launch packed snowballs, which are icy balls of hail that deal a total of 4 damage
Flaming Pumpkin Seed Projectile[]

Flaming Pumpkin Seeds
Snow glowems can spit flaming pumpkin seed projectiles at mobs. flaming pumpkin seeds deal 5 fire damage over 5 seconds, but the first damage is ignored. Flaming seeds also set fire to mobs they hit, as well as TNT, campfires, and candles. However, they only affect these things, and no other blocks catch fire. Flaming Seeds become normal seeds if fired through water or rain. This attack is only effective at close range however, launching less than half as far as the snowballs do.
Light[]
Besides being great base defenders, this mob's most notable feature is their ability to provide light. it's head glows, emitting a bright light, which allows it to illuminate dark areas. Having one or a few in or around a base lighting it up will make it much more difficult for monsters to spawn near said base.
Drops[]
When snow Glowems are killed, they drop 89 snowballs, 2 sticks, 6 coals, a torch, and a single carved pumpkin.
Melon Glowem[]

Melon Glowem
The melon glowem is a variant of snow glowem (or Melon Golem) with a jack-o'-melon as the head as opposed to a jack o'lantern. They function exactly the same as a regular snow glowem but will spit flaming watermelon seeds instead of the pumpkin seeds when in seed mode.
Trivia[]
- In Minecraft Heros, snow glowems can be summoned by Avalanche.
- Like standard snow golems, an enderman can accidentally craft a snow glowem by placing a jack-o-lantern atop 2 snow blocks.
