Squids are passive mobs that spawn naturally in the Overworld in oceans, rivers, and lakes. They are one of the two mobs that can swim, the other being both types of Guardians.
Behavior[]
Squids swim randomly inside water and move their tentacles to show that they swim. They will release ink particles when provoked and will swim away. If they go out of the water, after a couple of seconds, they will start "drowning" and lose health until they die.
Baby Squids[]
Baby Squids are smaller variants of squids. They are MCPE exclusive and can spawn in oceans or any water source like adult squids. When provoked, they release ink particles like adults.
Drops[]
Squids drop 0-3 ink sacs when killed.
Trivia[]
- Ink Sacs could only be found in Blacksmith's house in pre-0.11.0 versions of Minecraft: Pocket Edition.
- They can also be spawned through the use of a Squid Spawn Egg.
- Ink sacs are used for making dye in the Crafting Table.
